Carriage Driving Program

At Healing Horses Kauai, we are delighted to present our Carriage Driving Program, an innovative

therapeutic approach that offers participants a unique opportunity to work with horses in a driving

setting. This program provides individuals of all abilities the chance to engage with horses in

a way that promotes physical, emotional and cognitive development, while enjoying

the calming and rewarding nature of horse-drawn carriage driving.

What is Therapeutic Carriage Driving ?

Therapeutic carriage driving involves guiding and controlling a horse while seated in a carriage pulled by the horse. Unlike traditional horseback riding, this activity allows participants to experience the benefits of equine-assisted therapy without having to mount a horse. Therapeutic carriage driving is especially beneficial for individuals with physical limitations that prevent them from riding but who still wish to engage in equine activities.

Participants learn how to drive the carriage with the assistance of a certified PATH Intl instructor. This allows them to develop confidence, focus, and coordination while interacting with the horse. Carriage driving also fosters a strong sense of partnership between the driver and the horse, helping to build trust and communication.

Pricing :

One Hour Lesson: $70
4-week package (1 hour per lesson): $260 ($65/lesson)
8-week package (1 hour per lesson): $480 ($60/lesson)

* Office/Insurance riders have a $5 co-pay.

Payment is due at the time of the lesson and can be made via VENMO, check, or cash. To pay via PayPal, please schedule your lesson first at 808-634-3896, then CLICK HERE to proceed with payment.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy :

A $20 fee will be applied for same-day cancellations or no-shows.
